We believe…

• in the verbal and plenary inspiration, inerrancy, infallibility, and providential preservation of the Bible.  The King James Version of the Bible is used for all teaching, preaching, and personal work here at VBC.

• the Bible is correctly understood when approached from a literal, dispensational viewpoint.  Therefore, we believe that the world was created in six literal days.

• there is one true God, eternally existing in three distinct Persons – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (ie. the Trinity).

• in the Deity, incarnation, virgin birth, vicarious substitutionary sacrifice through the shedding of His blood on the cross, and the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

• in the literal, pre-tribulational, pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ.

• that salvation was planned by God the Father in eternity past, provided through God the Son on the cross, and produced by God the Spirit (Holy Spirit) by grace through faith apart from any works.

• that the atonement of Christ was offered to all men.  Man is personally responsible to receive Christ by faith in response to the hearing of the Word of God and the convicting power of the Spirit of God.  The moment he believes, he is regenerated and sealed by the Holy Spirit.  The believer is secure in Christ forever.  We reject both hyper-Calvinism and Arminianism.

• in separation from unbelievers, disobedient believers, and this world system.  Thus, we are opposed to the ecumenical movement, the charismatic movement, and Contemporary “Christian” Music.
