Victory Baptist Church was founded in September 1985 and built on the foundation laid in Scripture with Jesus Christ being the Chief Cornerstone. Under the leadership of Pastor Robert T. Sims, the church began holding services in a rented building on the property of an old campground just outside the Zephyrhills city limits. In 1988, the Lord provided Victory with 3.5 acres, and in 1989 they began the construction of their own church building. The Lord continued to bless VBC with additional land and further construction of facilities. There have been two additions to the original auditorium and the construction of a gymnasium which includes classrooms and a commercial kitchen.
VBC is grateful for the leadership of Pastor Sims for over 31 years. In June of 2017, the Lord called Pastor Sims home to heaven. During those trying days and the months to follow, God used the preaching and teaching of Pastor Tom Kesinger (a retired pastor in the church) to help the people heal and to challenge Victory to go forward for Christ.
God continued to bless His church and in January 2018, led David Toulson to become the next Pastor of Victory Baptist Church. Pastor Toulson and his wife, Shelena, began their ministry here at Victory on March 4, 2018.
We currently have two main buildings, an auditorium and gymnasium, located on 21.7 beautiful acres. In recent years, God has blessed with the remodeling of several classrooms, offices, and our auditorium. We have also been able to add a couple of RV parking pads to be a blessing to evangelists and missionaries coming here to minister or traveling through the area.
While we are thankful for a rich heritage, we look forward with great anticipation to what God is going to do in and through Victory Baptist Church. Truly, “to God be the glory” for the great things He has done and will do here at VBC.
